Dear Co-operator:

We are saddened to hear that you feel we aren’t handling this situation as well as it could be. We understand your frustration; we are frustrated too.We are trying, as you stated “these are unprecedented times”.

We are monitoring the situation, currently there is a 14 day non-essential travel order in place by the Governor. We have reached out to several municipalities that include the Town of Beekman, The Dutchess Department of Health and the Governor’s office. We heard from the town of Beekman here is that response.

I just received guidance from Dutchess County concerning your request to open in April. The County would like you to delay opening as this would violate the Stay Home instructions from the State. Additionally, it would be difficult to enforce public gathering restrictions at this time.

We appreciate your cooperation as we all navigate through these very difficult times.

 Kind Regards,

 Mary B. Covucci

We are still waiting to hear back from Dutchess DOH and The Governor’s office. We will keep you up to date, as this Global Pandemic changes daily.

We as a Board are doing what we believe is in the communities’ best interest and we can all do are part to keep each other safe and healthy!

We will be meeting again on Saturday April 11th, 2020 and will update you again.

Hopefully we as a community/nation/world, will get control of this and someday return to some normalcy.

Be well and please stay safe.

Maureen Bock and the Somerset Board of Directors.

To All Somerset Cooperators:

As you are aware, the Rules and Regulations of Somerset Leisure Homes state that the community will open for the season “on or about April 15.”  Normally, a deviation from April 15 is due to unseasonably cold weather.

Currently, we are all in an abnormal situation.

The Board of Directors held a meeting this afternoon via Zoom.  Currently, New York State is under a directive to curtail unnecessary travel.  The board will meet again on April 11 to reassess the situation, and determine an appropriate date for opening.

Thank you for your understanding and patience under very trying circumstances for everyone.
